Walmart, A Tech Company?

We go on-site in downtown LA to cover a protest against the construction of a new Walmart in Chinatown. Brandon Provides us with some interesting facts about the history of Walmart as a technology company:

...Walmart is considered, at least by CIO magazine...to be a real information technology innovator and leader. Particularly in their supply chain computer systems. So Apple is "Lion"ized in the business press about really efficient supply chains that enable them to keep costs low...Walmart does that to the tune of $500 billion a year in sales. Everything they sell is tracked with a UPC code...they (walmart) actually introduced those codes into the market about 30 years ago...
