Robots: They Took Our Jobs!

The most important conversation this election has been unemployment. In this episode we spoke with Martin Ford, an entrepreneur and founder of a Silicon Valley-based software development firm, about his book, The Lights in the Tunnel, which explores how accelerating technology is disrupting our economy and what that means for our economic future. We are later joined by John Slater, an investment banker and attorney who blogs at capmatters.com, and what his perspective is on how technology is affecting unemployment.

 

I think we are entering a new era in terms of things like robotics and artificial intelligence. Technology is able to do things now, especially in terms of taking on intellectual tasks that it never could do in the past. So things are different...
