The Future of Science Fiction With Marc Zicree & Ray Bradbury
We start with a clip from the Pacifica Archives of the late Ray Bradbury on how to tell a good story and later how we need to remember what inspires us and makes us what to explore our solar system. We also spoke with Marc Zicree, a famous science fiction writer and producer, who wrote The Twilight Zone Companion and has written for shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation and Sliders about his crowd-funded project Space Command and the future of funding and moving back to positive science fiction.
I have a feeling you need me... and... I'm gonna watch you the next ten years and as the years pass you're going to need me even more, and I'm going to come back and help you...
Ray Bradbury
For me, what Space Command is, is a return to hopeful science fiction, it’s a return to a vision of possibility. I’m looking back at the vision we had in the 50s… and saying lets extrapolate from that with a modern perspective… what I’m creating is a story that covers about 200 years of man’s expansion into space…
